Vineyard notes: "The vineyards of Il Marroneto extend on the north side of the hill, at about 350m above sea level, in the immediate vicinity of the walls of Montalcino. The first 3000 meters of vines were planted in 1975, then as many in 1979 and finally in 1984, the last 9000. The vines of Il Marroneto are arranged so that each plant has 3.6 m2 available, allowing the Sangiovese vine, which feeds on the surface, to have space for good rooting. on a traditional and minimalist philosophy that mutates practices and systems used in respect of the plants, taking care of the vines to the minimum and avoiding intensive productions. Hence the practice of natural grassing, which allows you to control the vigor of the vines, with longer times pollination and pruning in March, allowing the plants time to rest."

Crunchy, vibrant, energetic, dynamic, this Made in Montalcino expression is lively and passionate, showing itself with notes of blood orange, lemon peel, jasmine, lime, cumin, gardenias and elderflower. The very subtle cherries in the background light up the sub-scene and add character. Medium-bodied, perfectly ripe tannins and a remarkably classic finish. Best since 2024. 95/100 Raffaele Vecchione - WinesCritic.com
