Bolgheri Superiore Podere Grattamacco 2021

From the historic Grattamacco winery, one of the pioneers and most prestigious in the Bolgheri appellation, the 2021 Bolgheri Superiore is an extraordinary expression of elegance and finesse. Located on a hillside with a unique terroir, the winery is renowned for its highly balanced wines, which combine the power of Bordeaux varietals with the freshness and minerality of the terroir. 2021 was an excellent vintage, producing wines with solid structure, vibrant acidity, and remarkable aging potential.

Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and a touch of Sangiovese, the wine has been aged for approximately 18 months in oak barrels. On the nose, it presents a complex and layered bouquet of red and black fruits, such as cassis and cherry, enriched with floral notes, tobacco, sweet spices, and a touch of minerality. On the palate, it is powerful yet incredibly elegant and velvety. The tannins are dense yet very fine, and the lively acidity ensures a very long evolution. The finish is persistent, a true masterpiece of balance. It pairs magnificently with rich red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses.
