Flaccianello della Pieve - Fontodi 2019

From the heart of the "Conca d'Oro" (Golden Basin) of Panzano in Chianti, the Fontodi biodynamic winery is an icon of Chianti Classico and one of the finest interpreters of Sangiovese. Flaccianello della Pieve is their signature wine, a pure Sangiovese that has earned a place of honor among the great wines of Italy and the world. 2019 was an exceptional vintage in Tuscany, producing wines of extraordinary harmony and longevity, while maintaining an already intriguing drinkability.

With an alcohol content of 14.5%, the wine ages for approximately 24 months in French oak barriques. It displays a deep ruby ​​red color and a highly complex bouquet. The nose opens with intense aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and blackberry, enriched with floral notes of violet, sweet spices, leather, and a balsamic touch. On the palate, the 2019 Flaccianello is powerful and structured, yet incredibly elegant and velvety. The tannins are dense yet very fine, and the vibrant acidity ensures exceptional evolution.
