Brunello di Montalcino Giodo Winery 2013
From the prestigious Giodo winery, the personal project of Carlo Ferrini, one of Italy's greatest agronomists and oenologists, this 2013 Brunello di Montalcino is an expression of extreme elegance and precision. The wine reflects the genius of its creator and his profound knowledge of the Montalcino terroir. 2013 was an exceptional vintage, producing wines of great finesse, complexity, and aging potential.
Made from pure Sangiovese Grosso grapes and with an alcohol content of 14%, the wine has been aged for 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. On the nose, it presents a complex and refined bouquet of cherry, black cherry, underbrush, and spicy and floral notes. On the palate, it is taut and enveloping, with fine, well-integrated tannins and a pleasant freshness that makes it dynamic and profound. The finish is persistent, leaving an impression of great harmony and finesse. It pairs magnificently with roasts, game, and aged cheeses.
