Ornellaia 2012 Bolgheri Superiore

​L'Ornellaia 2012 is a Bolgheri DOC Superiore produced by Tenuta dell'Ornellaia. Composed of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot, this wine comes from a year characterised by a dry and sunny climate, with timely rainfall that favoured uniform ripening of the grapes. After fermentation in stainless steel and maceration for 10-15 days, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation mainly in oak barriques (70% new). The wine was aged for approximately 18 months in barriques, followed by a further 12 months in the bottle. It has an intense ruby ​​colour; the nose offers fruity and spicy notes, while the palate is broad, rounded and free of sharp edges, with smooth tannins and a long persistence.
