From the historic Montevertine winery, an icon in Radda in Chianti and one of the finest producers of pure Sangiovese, Le Pergole Torte 2016 is a legendary wine that has made Italian wine history. The winery, which chose to depart from the Chianti Classico appellation to maximize its Sangiovese, produced a masterpiece of elegance and power this vintage. 2016 was an exceptional vintage in Tuscany, celebrated for its harmony, extraordinary complexity, and remarkable aging potential, as evidenced by scores of 98/100 from Robert Parker and 99/100 from Antonio Galloni.
Made from pure Sangiovese grapes, the wine is aged for 12 months in Allier barriques and 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels. It displays a luminous ruby red color and a bouquet of extreme complexity and finesse. The nose opens with aromas of black fruit, red flowers, noble spices, and a touch of graphite. On the palate, Le Pergole Torte 2016 is deep, layered, and persistent, with a refined structure and ripe, fine tannins. Its vibrant acidity ensures a long evolution over time.
