Deaf Monvigliero Barolo 2016
The Barolo Monvigliero 2016 by Sordo Giovanni is a red wine produced with Nebbiolo grapes from the renowned Monvigliero cru, located in the municipality of Verduno, in the heart of Piedmont. The vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by submerged cap maceration for approximately 4-7 weeks. After malolactic fermentation at 20°C, the wine ages for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by aging in stainless steel for 4-6 months and a further 6 months in the bottle. It has a garnet red color; the nose offers an intense and complex bouquet, with floral notes of rose, ripe red fruit and delicate spices. The palate is elegant and structured, with well-integrated tannins and a long persistence.
